Downlighter Fire Hoods Description:
Downlight fire hoods are used to fire protect ceilings subject to fire regulations.
Lighting fire hoods restore the integrity of a ceiling where holes for
downlighters have been made.
During a fire the fire hood expands internally to fill the downlight
opening with an insulating and highly fire resistant char. Thus, progress
of the fire, via downlighter openings into a roofspace or ceiling void,
is checked.
Fire hoods also give additional insulation protection to the ceiling void, reducing the chance of heat build up and ignition of flammable materials such as accumulated dust or timber joists.
This downlight hood is also acoustic rated.
